Come join the Open Space Nature Guides and Trail Watch Volunteer Stewards as they discuss the flora and fauna found throughout the foothills of the Sandia Mountains. Learn about the geology and history of the area, and view the many wonders that the Elena Gallegos Open Space has to offer. 

This is a moderately strenuous 1.26-mile guided hike, so please bring water, wear comfortable shoes, and dress appropriately for the weatehr. As much as we love our furry friends, please leave your pets at home because they can be a distraction, and can scare away nature's critters. 

There is a $2 park entrance fee unless you are an Open Space Volunteer, or have an Annual Pass.
