The Annual Sustainability Expo

Every spring, Sustainability Studies transforms UNM's Cornell Mall into a vibrant celebration of local food, community resilience, and regional partnership. The Sustainability Expo  - now in its sixteenth year  - brings together roughly 100 booths featuring local farms, value-added producers, artisans, musicians, community organizations, NGOs, and city, county, and state agencies for an afternoon of connection, learning, and good food. What began in 2007 as a student-organized growers' market has grown into one of the program's signature moments: a day when our regional partners  - from neighborhood organizations to local government  - connect not only with us but with each other, and when the wider campus community encounters the people and institutions making sustainability real in New Mexico. It's colorful, it's fun, and it's a reminder that the relationships at the heart of this program extend far beyond the classroom.
