David Groenfeldt is Adjunct Professor of Anthropology at UNM and founding director of Water-Culture Institute (waterculture.org) in Santa Fe.  From his PhD research (U Arizona 1984) on the socio-economic impacts of large-scale canal irrigation in India to his current work on water ethics, his research and consulting have been water-focused.   His employment history includes five years with the International Water Management Institute in Sri Lanka, seven years with the World Bank’s water cluster, four years with Santa Fe Watershed Association, and since 2010 the Water-Culture Institute.   He is the author of Water Ethics: A Values Approach to Solving the Water Crisis (2013 and a 2nd edition in 2019), and co-author of Global Water Ethics: Towards a Global Ethics Charter (2017) both published by Routledge.
