2nd Street Clean-up Volunteer Day

September 22, 2018 9:00 AM
Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge

Please join us for our biannual litter clean-up event and help clean-up 2nd Street along the Refuge before our big Build Your Refuge Day event the following weekend! We will be cleaning up 2nd Street and the Refuge itself on Saturday September 22nd, 2018 from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm. We will meet at the Refuge House (7851 2nd Street SW) at 9:00 am for coffee and bagels and to provide a safety briefing, discuss cleanup assignments, and provide trash bags and supplies.

We will provide high visibility safety vests for volunteers. Please bring a pair of gloves although we will provide gloves for volunteers that don’t have them. For your safety, please wear closed-toed shoes, long pants, and a long sleeved shirt. We have a few trash grabbers/pickers but if you have one or more, please bring them.

To sign-up for volunteer clean-up day, please join our Volunteer Database and sign up for the task called "2nd Street Clean-Up - September 2018." You can access the sign-up by clicking:
